Being in the “No”
In the process of creating your life after your career, you have an unprecedented opportunity to decide what’s included and what’s not. You get to make choices that align with your values and let go of what doesn’t.
For example, the “shoulds” can be tossed onto the trash heap of guilt and misery. The places you choose to put your attention should offer something positive in return. Like joy, fun, learning, curiosity, and creativity. You know, something meaningful by your definition.
What will you say yes to?
What will you say no to?
These questions matter because they give you ownership of your life. Perhaps you’ve made decisions in the past out of duty, obligation, or guilt. But seriously, during this limited time we’re given, do you really have the space for that?
